Michal Perez Noy, a Haifa musician and composer, initiated in 2017 a project to compose songs by the German poet Rainer Maria Rilke. She was soon joined by Asaf Juicyjew Koren (guitar), Elad Bardes (bass) and Amir Noy Nomiros (drums) and what started as the Rilke project became Mazeppa.
The band's materials are composed partly of the poet's poems and some of the original songs that Michal Perez composed. The band joined producer Benjamin Esterlis to work together on its debut album, which was recorded entirely in an analog studio in Italy.
“Storm” was the first single released on April 15th, 2019, “The Way In” is the second single released on Jan 29th, 2020. This release include a video release as well.
