Khan Tengri is the psychedelic rock project of Allister Thompson, who also records as The Gateless Gate (Instrumental Psych/Ambient) and Twilight Fields (Atmospheric Rock).
On the albums "Aeons" and "KT2", Allister presents a varied palette of psych styles influenced by such acts as Gong, Hawkwind, Amon Düül II, Pink Floyd, and Jefferson Airplane but also encompassing such genres as ambient, kosmische, Krautrock, progressive rock, and avant-garde classical.
The music is often dark and thoughtful in tone.
